The Adventure of Rachel Ray Rachel
Prologue
Rachel slowly walked down the hallway of her school; Waterdale, she doesn’t like the name or the teachers in it… and for the most part, none of the kids either! She mainly keeps her life’s focus on the Lord, and her parents. Her only friends are the animals that jump and play all around her. She has some sort of special connection towards them… something she could never explain to anybody, not even herself. Because here are the reasons why; first, whenever she walks up to an animal, they just run TO her, instead of AWAY from her. Second, is that she can walk almost anywhere, and some of them will follow her! Even to class!
But, she never let that bother her before, because she never knew that it was unnatural! She always thought that in was as natural as peanut-butter and jelly, or that water is wet! But she soon figured out, that it was quite unnatural! Because, most of her school is outside, all of her classrooms are inside with air-conditioning, but all of the rest of her school is outside… even the cafeteria! But, anyways… all the kids were either afraid of her, or would just make fun of her. All this started to happen when she was about eight. But then, a couple years later, she was sent to an orphanage, because both of her parents died in a car accident. And that didn’t make her life much better.
The orphanage had a dog there… to keep all of the children company, soes they wouldn’t miss their old family, or whatever occurred. But, all of the kids there hated Rachel also, because the dog… and all the other dogs that came always loved Rachel, and would guard her from all the other children! So, finally after the fifth dog that went crazy over Rachel, and they kept on having to get new ones. They finally decided to no longer let Rachel around any of the dogs that they rescued.

Now, this always made Rachel sad, because she could never go outside and play with the animals… or any of the other children! Even when the rest of the children were inside, they still never wanted to play with her. And when she would try to fit in or join in, they would just ignore her, or say that there were too many kids already! She was always used to being able to have fun with other people, and be around animals to, but since she had no one, she became gloomy, and sad. Until one day she went totally Goth! She would always hide in corners, and never even look at the kids anymore, and so… as you can imagine, nobody ever wanted to adopt her! So about three years passed by when she was about ready to kill herself and die. Not caring where she would go afterwards. Forgetting about all of the wonderful creatures that God had made… just for her, but then one day, a boy showed up at her orphanage, and walked over to her and said,
“Hello, what’s your name?” he asked her as he put his hand on her shoulder.
Rachel shoved his hand off, and thought for a few moments, because people had only mentioned her name but a few times when they would call her for mealtime. But then she slowly replied to him,
“My name is Rachel Ray Rachel, what’s it your business of anyways?” she said as she pulled a strand of her greasy Hazel brown hair away from her eyes. As she looked up, she didn’t find hate in the young man’s eyes, but pity and soreness in his beautiful wolf blue eyes. That was not harsh and cruel, but soft and gentle, as if he was as gentle and harmless as a newborn puppy. Which almost made her feel warm and happy inside?
“I only mean to make a new friend.” He answered seriously and thoughtfully.
“I don’t need your pity! Everybody else in this dump gives me enough of it already!” she hissed sarcastically.
“I’m sorry if I offended you, but I just lost my mother and father a couple of days ago, and when they were in the hospital dying, my mother told me that at the orphanage that I would go to, that there was a girl there in the corner, with no other friends nor anybody to even give her any love. And she told me to go to you, and give you a friend.” He said as he stared into her deep, dark, brown eyes.
“But how could you love… give friendship to such a beast like me?” she asked him as her eyes started to tear up. For in the last few years, the most kindness and respect that anybody had given her was, ‘Get over here dog, and get some kibble from the dog’s dish… he sure loves you enough to let you!’ And so she could never have ever thought it possible for a new kid to be nice to her!
“Because you need it, and I need it too. Also, you are not any kind of beast. You are just sad and lonely. So, can I sit and talk with you?” he asked as he pulled another strand of hair from her face.
“I don’t see what more harm could come of it? So yeah… sure sit down.” She said as she tapped the little space of floor that was lying next to her.
And so started a friendship that no others would have ever guessed would have occurred.
