A Call to Perfection
by Bayo Omoyiola, Jr
Be ye therefore perfect even as your father which is in heaven is perfect.
- Matt. 5: 48
(Other Refs - Rev. 2 & 3, Romans 9:15-16, Matt 7:21)
There is a loud cry coming from the heart of God. It`s a call to perfection. He is calling all his children to perfection. We ought to be perfect. If it were not so, Jesus wouldn`t have said - Be ye perfect.
Right now, the body is christ is far from being perfect. If she were perfect, may be Jesus would have returned for his people. But, God desires perfection from his people so that we may one day wear incorruptible bodies and be wholly perfect. He wants our soul and spirit to be perfect. If you are living a life that pleases God and I want you to know that you are living a perfect life. Sometimes, you fall then you stand up and start walking again. The walk of perfection is not really about how many times you have fallen but about making it to the finish line. If you are fallen, God wants you to stand up and walk towards perfection. It starts with a decision to please God. You can make that decision right now then you keep on walking in the love of GOD, loving him and keeping his commandments. I found out that its easy to make that decision but it`s hard to keep on walking in perfection. With God, it becomes easy. That is why you have to trust in him and acknowledge him always.
There is a call for the body of christ to be perfect. God wants our hearts to be perfect and he is looking out for those with perfect hearts so that he can show himself perfect on their behalf. The churches of today are like the seven churches that Jesus sent Apostle John to. God wants us to do away with idolatry and every form of it. He is calling us to seperate ourselves from the excesses of the prophetic move. There is a hurricane of prosperity coming to destroy people. Beware! and stop making prosperity your foundation. God does not want us to be deceived. He is calling us back to our first love. Be ye separated from sexual immorality, false doctrines and make Jesus your foundation.
There has been a shift of mentality, we have to go back to our first love. Let the cross be your foundation. God wants Christ to be your solid rock. He also wants us to be built on the foundation of prophets and apostles. Be ye prophetic, so you can discern and be ye apostolic, so you can know that you are here on a mission.
You can walk in perfection, believe it and start now if you are yet to make that decision. If you would do God`s will, he would surely make you perfect.
