A reflection on Andrew Wyeth's “Pentecost”
monstrous nets span the harbor
wary webs waiting for the kill
swarthy fishermen gather close
on either hill above the quiet
harbor's deceptive chill
defying the eager seagull's
voracious bill
humans they are flaunting
wit and will
against true nature's artless
innate skill
