Our life is a mystery. We plan out so many things and try to execute them. But most of the time we are baffled at the happening of things. We try to analyze why it happened so. But the deeper we go the more surprised we are.

Sometime back, a hospital chaplain was told that a patient in room 101 was from his part of the country. Immediately he rushed to the room, only to discover it was a mistake. The person there was a total stranger to him from another part of the country which was entirely unknown to him. The chaplain apologized and explained the mix up, and was about to leave when the man asked him to stay. The patient there told him that for many years he had needed and really wanted to talk to a priest, but he could never bring himself to approach one.

“Father, for many days I’ve been praying for the courage to talk to a priest. I was actually praying even when you walked in the door of my room. I don’t believe that your coming here now was a mere coincidence. I believe it was God’s answer to my prayer.”
The man then spent the next hour unburdening his heart of years of sin and guilt, and when the priest left he was praising and thanking God for coming to him in the midst of his trouble, counting his last days, with a terminal illness.

It is human to calculate everything in a human perspective. But there is an omnipotent power guiding our life. God is always ready to hear our prayer and help us in our needs. It is not possible for any person to cry to God and not be heard.

God’s answers to our prayers are often so simple, obvious, and so ordinary that we may fail to believe that the answers come from God.
