Opening Prayer:


You seem to have a deep hole

Within yourself and don’t know

how to begin to fill it

A yearning

So powerful that it’s painful

You don’t know where to turn

Running in circles

Going, going, going.

Stop! Take time and relax

Do you think you

are looking for love?

Love immersed in truth and freedom

To be yourself while at the same time

growing and meeting challenges

Is that what you yearn for?

There is only one place to find

that kind of love

Jesus is here for you

He is with you right now!

This yearning is to be with him

Your soul will not rest

until you rest with him

Then you will fill the empty hole

Although not completely

Until at the end of your journey

You meet Jesus face to face





Situation: I am jealous of someone who seems to get “all the breaks” while I try so hard yet don’t seem to make progress. I am starting to resent her.


Jesus says: My child, you feel that something is lacking in you. That you must not be doing something right or are not good enough. Inwardly, you compare yourself to others and think they must have more than you. . You feel so discouraged that you don’t see the beauty and gifts I have given you. Each person has his or her own gifts that I have given to show my love. Some show their gifts though music or art. Others through math or science. You also have gifts. Your gifts may be different than those given to others. They need to follow their path just as you need to follow yours. I have given you what you need to follow your own journey. Come to me in prayer and discover your special gifts or allow me to lead you to someone who can help you discover your gifts. No one can give what you can and in the way that you do. No one can bring me to the world like you. So—let others proceed on their journey and you proceed on yours. Each of you will show my love in different ways.




Activity: Think of the talents you have. How can these gifts show God’s love? Instead of being jealous, see how blessed you are. Then you may able to look others with new eyes and appreciate their gifts. Remember that you never know what other people have been through. They may seem like they have a wonderful life, but they may actually be having a hard time. Things aren’t always what they seem.



Closing Prayer:


We have been given gifts

God has been so generous

To one the gift of dance

Another, insight to work on cars

Yet another a creative mind

To look at the world in a unique way

What gifts have you been given?

What gifts has God given you

to bring life, love,

and a sense of hope to others?

Nobody can bring the special gifts

That you can

You have your own wisdom and spirituality

If you can take this

Meditation to your deepest self

What are the gifts you can bring others TODAY!
