JOY

Opening Prayer:

Dance for the joy of new birth!

Your soul is alive and beating

Your heart consumed with compassion

Your body moves faster and faster

You let your body lead you

In the beauty of the dance

The beauty of the life

God has given you

To praise and glorify!

Oh, this joy cannot stay hidden

This bliss cannot be contained!

Dance your prayer to God!






Situation: I feel the presence of God in me and in the world. I am filled with joy that words can’t possibly express. How can I share this joy with Jesus?




Jesus says: My child. What a joyful day this is! It’s like a beautiful dance. This joy is powerful and strong. Enjoy my life within you and within those around you. I am present everywhere; know in your soul my love for you. I see beauty in you and others in the world. Dance with me! Let us dance with the flowers, trees, moon, and the people I have created with such great care. Oh yes, let us dance! Do you hear the music inside you? Your soul is restless until it finds this glorious home. Celebrate with me! Your heart is pounding so hard you feel like you have to share your joy. You just have to! It’s not to be kept inside you. Your life has a very deep and special purpose that only you can fulfill. Realize how much I love not only you but all my beloved children. You are not jealous of my love for others because you understand that my love for you is more than you can imagine. Come, let us dance!


Activity: This feeling of joy most likely will come from prayer. You may say, “I didn’t feel this when I was praying. This joy came when I was with someone who loved me or when I was deeply moved or helped by someone.” That IS prayer. Prayer is a number of situations. Prayer doesn’t require silence, nor does it require the recitation of special words. Many times, I have felt this special joy while listening to Christian music, during deep, meditative prayer, or while sharing my faith and praying with others. It’s easier to feel this joy when you don’t have distractions. You can experience Jesus’ presence when you least expect it or in unlikely situations. Try and remember the times you have felt Jesus’ presence. Were you with people, alone in nature, in a special situation or in prayer? You might want to keep a journal and write down these experiences so you can remember them when times are difficult. Remember that our Father wants us to be happy and celebrates our joy with us.


Closing Prayer:

A new day is here

A new chance to live

Really live!

A new day to see nature

With open eyes

To let nature speak to us

To see autumn leaves

As they drift to the ground

Telling us, reminding us,

There is a new beginning

Yes, a new day is here.

A new day is here.
