AT THE GATE OF ETERNITY

When at the gate we stand,
We shall know
That the fornication
We hold so close
Is but a cord
That drags us to the goal
The devil sets for his own.

When at the gate of eternity,
We shall understand,
The folly of a few things we hold dear
Like the coat of anger
We often display
To beautify our precious pride -
Is an emblem of the devil and Satan.

When we shall stand
With kids gloves,
We shall discover
The multiple of lies we told
Were not worth
All we were told
Were in them for us.

When at the gate we arrive,
We shall find to our chagrin,
The great mistake we made
By obeying the words of men
While the word of the Lord was relegated -
To give glory to the brain
That for a nano second reigns.

When we shall stand at the gate of eternity,
We shall realize
How little we really know,
When in our over-stuffed ego
We thought we were little gods
To our damnation –
A parcel full of lies.

When at the gate of eternity we stand
The beauty of obedience will be exposed
And the splendor of love shown
To be brighter than the brightest sun,
And the word of God
The truth we would have loved
In order to dine and wine with the Lord.

But all is not lost
Until into six by three we step,
If we fail to meet the Lord
Before our last breath.
Sure, it’s up to us
To escape a second death
And make it to the Kingdom.
