The Spirit of a Best Friend
Hey, if you have had something awesome and something terrible happen in one day? How about your best and worst day ever? Well, that day happened today. I uh… well, let’s just take you back to a few days before my best/worst day ever… here you go!
“Hey, ya… ya… ya… of course… uh huh… no way! Yes I will soooooooooooooo come over! Ok, see you later, by, by!” I said as I clicked my cell phone off, and then shoved it in my pocket. “Hey mom, is it alright if I go to Allisa’s house today?” I asked my mom with the best puppy face I could make.
“Didn’t you just go to her house last weekend?” she asked pleadingly, for I knew that she didn’t want to waste any more gas on driving me half an hour away.
“No, yesterday! But back to the puppy face pleading.” I said frowning puppily.
“Well… ok, I’ll take you at 2:00. Call Allisa’s mom and tell her.”
“Thanks mom!” I said dashing out of the kitchen and hopped onto my bed as I dialed her number. “Hey, can I talk to your mom?” I asked Allisa’s little brother Andrew. “Thanks… hello Mrs. Alders. My mom wondered if I could come over around 2:00… thanks, see you then!” I shut my phone and shoved my closet door open so that I could grab my backpack to pack up.

“Hey, what’s up Allisa?” I asked her as I ran up her drive way, and then into her arms.
“Good, what’s up with you?” she asked me smiling.
“Everything, how about you,” I asked smiling back.
“Everything, same as you… come inside!”
“Ok… oh, hang on a second… see ya mom! Ok, now I’m coming.” I said as I returned my gaze back to her.
“See you sweetie, have fun!” mom hollered back. I scuttled inside and tried to follow Allisa, but it is hard to follow the fastest girl in school.
“I redecorated my room… again” she said as she burst into her bedroom twirling with her arms in the air.
“Didn’t you just redecorate it last week?” I asked puzzled.
“Yes, but I decided that I hated it. Well, what do you think?”
“Umm…” I looked at the sloppy paint job that was splattered on her wall and suddenly realized that… it was suppose to be like that! “It scares me!” I barked smiling.
“I knew you’d love it!” she said wrapping her arm around my shoulders. “Next we can decorate your room… the same way as mine!”
“Sure, but maybe later… I mean… I like my room the way it is.”
“Ok, maybe later! But now… read me some gossip girl, I need some gossip nourishment!”
Later that day we just talked and talked and then watched some movies until 4:00 a.m! We awoke the next morning and hopped out of bed, because we both stared at the clock in horror as it read… 10:30 a.m. That is like the worst nightmare for us! Because we have this thing on where we always get up around 9:00, but today… 10:30!!!
“Get up, get dressed and pretend we have been up for hours!” I yelled to Allisa hurriedly.
“I know, I know… get the makeup kit, and get it ready! We are going to need to use it!” she hollered back as she scrambled through her doors for something short and tight to wear. Oh, and did I forget to mention that we are 16 years of age? Well, pardon me but I think a little introduction would be appropriate… I am Alexandra (but most people call me Alex) I have long, brown, curly hair, and I love fashion. My best friend Allisa, she has blonde hair, which is long and strait. She also loves fashion… almost more than me!
Later we finally got all primped and prim for the day, and I had no idea who I would see at the mall! So finally we arrived at the mall and immediately went into our favorite store… Aeropostle! And then we went to Claire’s, and then when we reached the middle of the mall, and that’s when I saw him… one of the most gorgeous guys I have ever seen! He had long blonde hair, which looked like a little wave in front of his face! His eyes were deep wolf blue eyes, and he wore Jeans and a red T-shirt that said: Kiss the Chef. The shirt didn’t bother me a bit… I was just happy that it wasn’t an apron!
“OMG, look at that guy over there Al,” I told her as I wrapped one arm around her shoulder to his direction, and the other pointing at him.
“OMG, you are right! He is ADOREABLE! You have to go over and say ‘hey’ girl… come on!” she said shoving me towards him, and before I could argue… I was right in front of him!
“Ummmm… hey, my name is Alex-andra… what’s yours?” I asked him with my face hot red.
“Sorry, but I don’t talk to…” he said as he shifted his gaze from his friend to me and then started to smile. “I’m Tyler… you’re Alexandra?”
“Yes, and Ummmm…” Allisa started to croak with her throat trying to say ‘hello, introduce me!’. “And this is my friend Allisa.” I finished as I grabbed Allisa and threw her into Tyler, the same as she did to me.
“Oh, uh sorry,” Allisa blushed. “I am Allisa!”
“So I’ve heard,” Tyler said glancing from her and then back to me.
“So what school do you go to?” I asked changing the subject.
“Elementary… NMC. How about you?”
“OMG, that’s the same as me!” I squealed excitedly.
“I feel left out, I’m going to go and get a triple-fudge-sundae.” Allisa whispered to me as she waddled quickly off to the ice cream shop.
“So, I have to go but here’s my number,” I shot out my Sharpie and scribbled my number on his wrist. “See you later!” I said as I ran down to get in line next to Al.
*****
“That was some REALLY good ice cream!” Allisa said as she scooped the last of her triple-fudge-sundae, into her mouth.
