Once, I thought
I knew true freedom,
Doing as
I would choose;
But my sin
Ruled my kingdom;
I was brought
To its shoes.

But for love,
I was sold,
To the One
Who made me;
In His eyes,
My faith’s as gold,
And by faith,
Made me free!

Now reborn,
For the King,
Heart staunch
To do His will;
His good joy,
Makes me sing,
For He is
My life’s fill.

Bound for good,
By His Word,
Despite all
My trials;
In His oven,
He tests this sword,
As He holds
All the dials.

Test me, Lord,
For Yourself,
I will be
As gold;
Leave me not,
On Your shelf;
Make me as,
Jesus-bold!

Make me, Lord,
As Your love,
Complete, pure,
And holy;
Make me as,
You above,
To do all
For Your glory!
