My Desire

A broken heart with so much pain
Come and make me whole again
Oh Lord, nothing I do will yield the answer
Your love and forgiveness I need
Come fill me with your Spirit to heal
Who I’ve become, I do not like
So hard my heart, through it a spike
The wall around me built does not hide
The feelings of hopelessness and despair
Your touch my only need for repair
Oh Lord, so dark my soul
Far from you I feel lost in my role
As child I come on my knees
Asking forgiveness, restoration
Oh Lord, hear my desperation
Suddenly a light so bright
An answer full in sight
Your open arms stretched out to me
My feet that of a deer
As I run to salvation so clear
