I refuse to make mountains from molehills,
I know this is a huge mistake.
Drama may find a new place to be born,
there to hatch, hopefully near a lake.

I refuse to serve guilt at my table,
amongst every meal I may serve.
Instead I'll give thanks for the
bread which is broken,
the presence of God in my words.

I refuse to be taken for granted,
I know I deserve something else.
For those I relate to, I treat them with love,
there's no ego, it's just give and take.

I refuse to pretend I am better
than anyone else on this earth.
Regardless of wealth, poverty or derision,
creed, culture or all they are worth.

I refuse to bow down to another,
for no one is better than I.
For when I encounter an arrogant spirit,
you don't know the tears that I cry.
