The Parable


This parable spake Jesus unto them but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them. John 10:6

A parable is an enigma [statement] with a hidden meaning to be guessed. The statement having anything very obscure [not distinct, nor easily understood].yet, it is a humble statement made to those living in darkness.

Therefore, “One must study to “shew” themselves approved unto God”. 2 Timothy 2:15
Shew is to prove one is capable to abide with and stand next to God, within and through His established covenants.

Luke 4:18-19,21
Jesus spoke “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovering of the sight of the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord”. He then closed the book and sat down. Later, he began to say unto them, “This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears”.

Now, let’s re-read this parable with the moral comparison by which it is intended.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel. The preaching of the gospel was to evangelize as a messenger and to announce good news, being knowledge of the workings of darkness through evil spirits. This knowledge was to lead them away, drive them, induce them that they be brought away from the workings of the evil spirits and turn unto God.

He was anointed to preach the gospel news
1. to the poor (beggars) (those under the control of darkness are beggars)
2. to heal the brokenhearted (to those having been crushed completely, their heart and mind, thoughts or feelings ( the brokenhearted)
3. for deliverance to the captives (prisoners of war unto the darkness of the evil spirits)
4. for the recovering of the sight of the blind. (blind- those whose eyes have enveloped with smoke, those inflated with self-conceit, high minded, those having lifted themselves up with pride (sight- that they would look up)
5. to set at liberty them that are bruised (bruised-those crushed, shattered, broken in parts: mind, emotion or will or all three) (liberty- to establish freedom, pardon, deliverance, to send forth)
6. To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. (acceptable- propitious, That man would be favorable and disposed to be gracious or merciful, providing a reconciliation of approval, for the year of the Lord.)

The days in which we live are rapidly approaching the return of the Lord, at which time those who are redeemed will be allowed to stand next to God. As has been stated, “This day IS the scripture fulfilled in your ears.” This scripture says it all. The full knowledge and awareness of the darkness of the world through the evil spirits has been made known to those who study to “Shew” themselves approved unto God. Those who have studied have become a child of light, Ephesians 5:8 and become reconciled and approved unto God. Each child of light has received the Spirit of the Lord and are called to speak the truth of the parable, for the poor and brokenhearted be healed and delivered from the captives; the recovering of the sight of the blind, that they can believe and be set at liberty to know and understand the knowledge of the truth, that all would find themselves acceptable unto God, for the rapidly arriving year of the Lord.

God’s word must be studied through the Holy Spirit, for he will show you the way.
