One of the most difficult test of faith christians have to face is in the area of helping others. Helping others is one of the basic things Christ preached about.

Helping is not the problem.The problem lies in the fact that sometimes we may have to sacrifice something dear to us in order to help others.And to do this may take a lot of courage especially if it is something we cherish so much.Renouncing on such a thing for a short time,or parting with it for as long as the person who is in need of it wants to use it is sometimes frustrating and disappointing.

I was going out one day and I decided to walk instead of use the car.But something inside of me was telling me to take my bicycle.Obeying the voice I took the bicycle with me.As I reached the shopping center a few meters away from my house i saw a friend walking towards me in a hurry.

As he met me he asked me what he should do since he got in contact with his last employer and they told him they were looking for him.He wanted to know if he should go directly to their office or wait again till they call.So I advised him that it would be better if he goes directly to the office of which he asked if I could help him with my bicycle.I gave it to him and he left.

This was in the morning.Towards evening he came back to me but not with the bicycle but happily smiling and telling me that they had called him to start work again. He said he started immediately and that he would use the bicyle for the time being till he gets his own.

Although i feared he might return the bike in bad shape I simply gave it out to help him and didn't once bother him to bring it back to me.Of course he got his job back through my help and by giving out what i had that was something I never parted with.

What you give out or about to give out might not be a bicycle,it could be something different,maybe the new car you just bought,or a new dress.Something that you give out and know if it comes back in bad shape you are going to go all the trouble to fix or repair it and in the process spend a bit of hard earned cash.

Deciding to give it out is a bit of a thought wrecking job.For your mind goes into a thorough and elaborate consultation to find out the merits and the demerits of the action of helping out with that particular item you cherish so much.It is never easy but as Christians we should trust that if the Lord has need of that particular object to help someone we should not hesitate to give it out.

After all the Good Lord works miracle everyday in the life of Christians through what they have.You never know through what object you cherish can come your miracles.
