"Tuggles the Mouse With Green Sneakers"

Once there lived in a deep hole in the wall of a house,
A family of mouse, {or should I say mice}.
In this family of mice, there was two sisters, and a brother,
This brother mouse, was like no other.
For you see, when Tuggles was born, his feet were as big as could be,
Momma mouse exclaimed;"He didn't get those from me!'.
Now they were a nice family ,they all loved each other,
But sometimes it was hard, not to laugh at their brother.
Tuggles went to a school for all mice around the block,
All the other mice wouldn't bother when playtime came, so Tuggles sat
there like a rock.
You see, Tuggles needed special shoes,{yes, mice wear shoes, but you have to look quick},
So Tuggles didn't go to school much, he just said he was sick.
Tuggles dad one day, asked, if he'd like to go for a walk,
So Tuggles joined his dad, and they had a very long talk.
He tried to explain to Tuggles, that God loved him so,
Just because of him being special, he didn't have to feel low.
Tuggles and his dad had walked a long ways, before he realized,
His dad had brought him to a special place, a shoe place, that specialized.
I guess you know they specialized in having special feet,
So Tuggles and his dad went in, and had a seat.
The shoe salesmouse, asked what he could do,
Tuggles dad said they needed to get a special pair of shoes.
The salesmouse sat there, and though it seemed for awhile,
Then he snapped his little fingers, and broke into a smile.
Jumping up, and running into the back of the store,
Tuggles said, "I wonder what for?",
All of a sudden, the salesmouse came out with the biggest box you had ever seen,
When he opened it, guess what it was?, A beautiful pair of sneakers that were green.
These green sneakers were the neatest sneakers in the land,
The salesmouse said, 'now Tuggles, give me a hand'.
Putting the sneakers on, you'd think would be rough,
But Tuggles was overjoyed, his big feet had room enough!.
Tuggles stood up, and danced around the room in glee,
Look at me!, Tuggles said, "I can walk, I can run, I'm free!.
Tuggles dad paid for the shoes,
Tuggles dad wanted to get home to tell the family the wonderful news.
But as they walked along, there were some mice playing basketball,
Tuggles heard his name called.
'Hey Tuggles!, come on over, we need another mouse for the team,
Tuggles heart was filled with joy, and his dads face just beamed.
For the first time, because of Tuggles special green sneakers he wore,
He became a part of the basketball team, and more.
So it just goes to show that sometimes it takes something special to help you along,
With God, and that extra bit of help, there is a place you do belong.
