The United States of America needs more Christian leaders who will stand up for what is right for this country. The term "leader" has become abused by our government officials. We, the American people have become the victims of so many lies and broken promises.
The dictionary definition of leader is "a person who rules or guides or inspires others." I believe the key word in that definition is "inspires." Being a leader isn't just taking charge or rule over something or someone. I believe a true leader is someone who stands up for what he believes and inspires others to do the same. These are the type of people we need running our country.
If we had Christian leaders standing up for their beliefs and basing every one of their decisions on Scriptural principles, our country would be in a much better shape than it is now. Decisions like the forbidding of Bible reading and prayer in public schools would never have passed if we had more Christian leaders. Abortion would not be allowed because one of the Ten Commandments in the Bible is "Thou shalt not kill" and abortion is murder. I also find it shameful that the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America is not allowed to be said in the public schools of the United States of America!
If we do not want decisions like the ones I've mentioned to continue to be made, then we must elect men and women who will stand up for what is right and who will be true Christian leaders. We live in the greatest country ever, and the reason it has become the greatest is because it was founded upon Christian morals and Biblical principles.
Our Founding Fathers were God-fearing men who realized the importance of prayer. They also knew that for this country to become great it had to have leaders who would not waver from their beliefs no matter what the cost. Men who would inspire others to follow them because of their strength of character, their devotion to their country and the people they represent, but most importantly, their devotion and dedication to God. That is what I believe a Christian leader must be and those are the type of men and women I want running our country.
