CUTTING DOWN THE CROSS

The ever increasing evidence is all around us and it screams the fact that our once first and foremost trait, the fundamental characteristic upon which the very fabric of our country was knitted together, specifically, our displaying to the rest of the world by example the importance of holy reverence for the sovereign God of all creation has dried up and blown away by the wind of indifference. Our classrooms, our prestigious halls of government, our courts, virtually the entire makeup of our nation once shone as a beacon for the rest of the world as we proudly proclaimed the all-powerful Name of God as our strength, our shield and our
stronghold......but our government today has cut down the Cross and chopped it up. Now, the Cross serves only as kindling for the fire of ruin and self-destruction. A fire set by our government whose flames are designed to destroy anything and everything to do with Christianity and its propagation. Our Founding Fathers took to heart the Word of God when He said....”Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my
people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you” (Jeremiah 7:23).
But unlike our founding fathers who wisely spent time kneeling at the Cross and seeking the Lord’s will, wisdom and direction in their roles of leadership, our elected officials today deliberately distance themselves from the Cross. Never will this nation be destroyed by a foreign military power, it will be, and is being, destroyed from within.

THE DEVILS BACK POCKET

Whether it be legislative (congress, senate, and house of representatives), executive (president and vice-president), or judicial (the Supreme Court) branches, with the exception of a very rare and precious few the majority of our nations political leaders are in the devils back pocket which is displayed and demonstrated by
the obvious decay of our nation. This in turn is painfully demonstrative of the undeniable fact that our leaders clearly do not support the best interests of the people, however they do support which ever corporate conglomerate can best advance their personal and political aspirations. Our nation’s capital does not seek to lead and develop ours as a nation under God for the mere fact that to do so would only hinder their personal agendas for more money, more power and more control. So it is not surprising that anything or anyone that
does not support or advance that agenda is looked upon as nothing more than troublesome chaff in their wheat and must therefore be shaken loose and swept away. This is evidenced by the swift and immediate action with which our lawmakers implement unconstitutional laws against God and Christianity. How without
conscience they pass laws degrading the holy institution of marriage. How they implement rulings and render decisions approving and supporting atrocities such as the cold-blooded murder of millions upon millions of defenseless babies, a law designed in the very bowels of hell itself, a law that is nothing more than a filthy rag in the hands of our government smeared with innocent blood. It is now standard operational procedure for our government to ignore and expeditiously discard all morality set forth in the righteous statutes and laws of God with their “in your face” attitude of self-righteousness and their august delusional sense of having greater wisdom than God. It is the necessity (not the “option’) but the “necessity” of our nations leaders to abide by God’s laws and principles, else the hammer of God fall upon us and we become a desolation among the nations and the kingdom of God taken from us, “and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof” (Matt. 21:43). At the all too eager endorsement of our nations leaders our society is becoming more and more anti-Christian.“....this is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth” (Jeremiah 7:28). Incredibly, opposition from just one person who opposes prayer in public schools, or the public posting of the Ten Commandments or the Cross can voice a complaint which can and does reach without delay the ears of government, lawmakers, and the Supreme Court who spinelessly submit in cowardly and unconstitutional fashion to the heretical demand to remove God, prayer, and the Bible from all public venues. Our nations capital no longer takes a stand on the Bible alone as the one true guide for our country because it is not “politically correct.” As a result, if the Cross, anything, or anyone associated with the Cross offends a person, a group or a fanatical sect then government removes it, forbids it, and/or introduces legislation to outlaw it and rule it as “unconstitutional” even though our founding fathers strongly and immovably believed the Bible and held firmly to its principles and teachings. How loathsome it is that our leaders today remove the Cross and still call ours a Christian nation. We are a nation with
Christians, but we are no longer even in the broadest sense of the term a Christian nation. How true are the words of 1 Corinthians 1:18“....the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”

The First Amendment to the country's Constitution prevents the government from having any authority in religion, and guarantees the free exercise of religion. No person, group or organization can state with a straight face that our country and our constitution were not founded completely upon Christianity and a deep belief in God, coupled with the necessity to always seek Him in prayer and follow His guidance in all affairs of our nation. Our government today however insists on open tolerance of sin to such an extent that they legalize, approve and support those things which God Himself clearly condemns as “sin.” Atheists, evolutionists, and yes our own government state that it is not “constitutional” or “fair” to present or hold to Christianity and its values in any public venue. We have already addressed the first part of that argument in proving that it is indeed one hundred and ten percent constitutional. The second part of their argument is hypocrisy in its highest form. A few examples are that evolution can be taught in the classroom but teaching creation is absolutely forbidden. A student can wear a shirt with Charles Manson, a serpent, or a skull and crossbones on it but a student who wears a shirt with a Bible or a Cross gets strongly reprimanded and often expelled. Someone can place a naked statue on a public square and call it “art” but try exhibiting a Cross on a public
square and the immoral termites come out in droves to protest and demand its immediate removal.

Personally, I have always been dumbfounded as to why anyone would work so hard, with such
determination hate and anger, against something which they do not believe to even exist in the first place. After all, I do not believe in the Tooth Fairy or the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus, but I am not on a campaign to abolish them nor am I demanding that government remove all symbols of Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny
and reindeer and Easter baskets and chocolate eggs and elves and magic sleighs from all school classrooms and all stores and shopping malls and public venues. I am not suing to make it illegal for the name Santa Claus or Easter Bunny to be mentioned at high school graduation ceremonies. I am not campaigning to make it illegal for a child to place a tooth under their pillow because it promotes a belief in the Tooth Fairy which I do not personally believe in. Christians fight for Who they do believe in. Atheists and evolutionists fight for something they don’t believe in. Try figuring that one out.

Yes - it is fact, it is undeniable, and it is documented with proof in abundance that this nation was founded, in every conceivable way, upon Christianity and its precepts. Those who choose to delude themselves by stating
otherwise are guilty of exhausting the world’s supply of straws in their pitiful argument of stating over and over again that our country was not founded upon Christianity because their argument is so completely unsupported that they have reached for so many straws in sheer desperation that there are no more remaining for them to grasp at. Maybe the ACLU should sue the atheists and evolutionists for unconstitutionally monopolizing straws
to grasp at. And then comes their favorite activity, Sue, Sue Sue! With the great enthusiastic assistance of groups like the aforementioned ACLU they sue every person, company, school. courthouse, community, cor-
poration, and business who says or declares publicly anything to do with Jesus Christ, God, the Bible, Christianity, Prayer, or any aspect thereof. Anyone who watches the news knows that the ACLU aggressively seeks for any and all opportunities that will allow them to run to court and sue literally any person or institution that exhibits even the slightest of intention to promote Christianity in the public venue. In an article entitled “ACLU, The Abolishing Christian Legacy Union,” written by actor Chuck Norris and published on
WorldNetDaily.com on December 11, 2006 Mr. Norris says “The ACLU is not anti-religion, just anti-Christian. By definition, it’s the American Civil Liberties Union. By action, it has become the Abolishing Christian Legacy Union. The ACLU will assure Muslim clerics and Imans the right to pray on planes, fight for an atheist’s right to remove a cross, stand beside pro-abortionists, help illegal aliens cross our borders, and establish rights for the sexual deviant by forming the ACLU Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans-gender Project, but what is it doing
for Christians? While allegedly fighting against the tyranny of the majority, the ACLU itself rules religiously by litigation, lobbying, and supporting counter-culture Christian movements. So who died and appointed the ACLU as America’s religious constitutional watchdog? Membership for the ACLU is only 500,000. America’s population is 300 million. I think it’s time that we helped them feel their size.”

Let’s take just a moment to follow up Mr. Norris’s sentiments with a short, simple, and factual school lesson for the ACLU and its cohorts. The Pilgrims, as you will recall, were Christians fleeing Europe in order to escape
religious persecution (how ironic). The Pilgrims were followed to New England by the Puritans, who created Bible-based commonwealths. These governmental covenants and compacts numbered more than 100 and were the foundation for our constitution. Yes, America was indeed founded by Bible-believing Christians and based on Christian principles. When they founded this country, the Founding Fathers envisioned a government that would promote and encourage Christianity as we will see next by looking at three men who used as their tools for establishing and guiding this country their character, beliefs, morals and principles of Christianity, and their devout faith and trust in God. These men are known as Presidents of the United States.

George Washington in his famous Inaugural Address to both Houses of Congress, on April 30, 1789, with his hand on a Bible which was opened to Deuteronomy, Chapter 28, said: “We ought to be no less persuaded that the propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained; When he proclaimed a National Day of Thanksgiving, he said: “Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor...“Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the twenty-sixth day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these United States...that we then may all unite unto him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country.... “And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and suppli-
cations to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations, and beseech Him to pardon our national and other
transgressions...to promote the knowledge and practice of the true religion and virtue...
“Given under my hand, at the City of New York, the 3rd of October, A.D. 1789.”

Thomas Jefferson, whom the Second Continental Congress chose to author the Declaration of Independence, wrote in the front of his personal Bible "I am a real Christian, that is to say, a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus. I have little doubt that our whole country will soon be rallied to the unity of our creator." In 1803 at the request of President Thomas Jefferson, the United States Congress allocated federal funds for the salary of a preacher and the construction of his church. That same year, Congress, again at Jefferson’s request, ratified a treaty with the Kaskaskia Indians. Congress recognized that most of the members of the tribe had been converted to Christianity, and Congress gave a subsidy of $100.00 a year for seven years for the support of a priest so that he could “instruct as many ... children as possible.” On April 21, 1803, Jefferson wrote this to Dr. Benjamin Rush (also a signer of the Declaration of Independence): “My views...are the result of a life of inquiry and reflection,
and very different from the anti-Christian system imputed to me by those who know nothing of my opinions. To the corruptions of Christianity I am, indeed, opposed; but not to the genuine precepts of Jesus himself. I am a
Christian in the only sense in which He wished any one to be; sincerely attached to HIS doctrines in preference to all others.”

James Madison In 1785, in Memorial and Remonstrance Against Religious Assessments, Madison wrote: "We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future of all our political institutions...upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God." Yes, these are the morals and principles that commanded, inspired and drove with great desire and intensity the hearts and minds
of our nations Founding Fathers.

Now, let’s look at some “facts” regarding the early history of our country’s school system. All but two of the first 108 universities founded in America were Christian. Founded and organized to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This includes the first, Harvard, where the student handbook listed this as Rule #1: “Let every student be plainly instructed and earnestly pressed to consider well, the main end of his life and studies is to know God and Jesus Christ, which is eternal life, John 17:3; and therefore to lay Jesus Christ as the only
foundation for our children to follow the moral principles of the Ten Commandments."

Five years after establishing the Massachusetts Bay Colony, the puritans started in Boston the first elementary school supported by tax money. In 1647 they passed an ordinance which marked the beginning of the US public school system. It put the Bible in the center of its curriculum, asserting that it is “one chief project of that old deluder, satan, to keep men from the knowledge of the Scriptures.” Teaching our school children knowledge of God and the Scripture was therefore the main thrust of school education.

When King’s College (now Columbia University) opened in 1754, the following was part of an advertisement published for the school: “The chief thing that is aimed at in this college is to teach and engage children to know God in Jesus Christ.”

In its early days Princeton insisted that its faculty be “convinced of the necessity of religious experience for salvation.” John Witherspoon, the first president of Princeton said, “Cursed be all learning that is contrary to the Cross of Christ. Cursed be all learning that is not subservient to the Cross of Christ.”

WILLIAM AND MARY was established “that the Christian faith might be propagated.”

DARTMOUTH was founded to train missionaries to the Indians.

In 1777, Continental Congress voted to spend $300,000 to purchase bibles which were to be distributed throughout the 13 colonies! And in 1782, the United States Congress declared, “The Congress of the United States recommends and approves the Holy Bible for use in all schools."

Martin Luther warned, “I am much afraid that the universities (schools) will prove to be the great gates to hell, unless they diligently labour to explain the Holy Scriptures and to engrave them upon the hearts of youth.”

Genuine prayer and faith in God were attributes burned into the hearts and minds of our Founding Fathers. When president Wilson was experiencing great difficulties in international negotiations he arrived at a cabinet meeting and said to the cabinet members, “Let us pray and ask the help of God.” The President of the United States fell upon his knees with the members of the cabinet, and prayed.

In 1787 The Constitutional Convention was on the verge of complete failure over the issue of whether small states should have the same representation as large states. 81 year old Benjamin Franklin offered a suggestion.
He said “Gentlemen, I have lived a long time and am convinced that God governs in the affairs of men. If a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it likely that a nation can rise without His aid? I move that prayer imploring the assistance of Heaven be held every morning before we proceed to business.” The
motion carried.

Again, no one can state with a straight face or an ounce of sensibility that our country and our constitution were not founded completely upon Christianity and a belief in God and the necessity to seek Him in prayer and follow His guidance in all affairs of our nation.

The piranha in the blood-thirsty attack against Christian values are the ACLU. With the aid of liberal judges and politicians they are responsible for the consistent and steady erosion of our religious freedom, from the Supreme Court’s ruling in 1963 banning prayer in public schools to its decision in Roe v. Wade which legalized abortion. Our schools and school children are the main casualties in this beating from our legal system as our laws outlaw religion and promote perversion while moving us further and further away from any basis at all in Biblical principles. Some time ago a US District Court Judge (Samuel Kent) of the state of Texas ordered that any prayer at a high school graduation must not mention the name of Jesus. This judge said, “Make no mistake, this
court is going to have a United States marshal in attendance at the graduation. If any student offends this court, that student will be summarily arrested and will face up to six months incarceration in the Galveston County
Jail for contempt of court. Anyone who thinks I’m kidding about this order better think again....anybody who violates these orders....is going to wish that he or she had died as a child when this court gets through with them.” What extreme arrogance for this judge to make such a despicable statement about America’s school children. These are the very same type of tactics that the Gestapo used in Germany just before they persecuted and slaughtered six million Jews.


The ACLU is censoring and attacking Christians and family values at an increasing and alarming rate. If a community puts up a nativity scene, there’s the ACLU demanding it be removed. If a Cross is exhibited in public there is the ACLU again with their lawyers demanding it be taken down. If a teacher does the unthinkable and reads silently the Bible to themselves during reading period or if a student says grace before
eating his or her school lunch there is the ACLU to harass them and sue to have it stopped. It is a great mystery as to why everyone bends over backwards for the ACLU’s intimidations and their never-ending threats of lawsuits. They are unrelenting in their ultimate goal to banish Christianity and the rights of Christians. In 2004, due to the threat of an ACLU complaint, the US Post Offices in Louisville, Kentucky ceased carrying “Holy Bears.” “Holy Bears, Inc., the Texas-based designer/marketer of a line of plush toy bears with inspirational and
patriotic messages were being sold by the US Postal Service which included the God Bless America bear and the God Bless Our Troops Bear, as well as other designs that honored religious and family themes. But a single Kentucky resident said that he found the bears offensive and threatened to go to the ACLU. Louisville Postal headquarters issued a memo directing employees to take the bears off the shelves and return them to the company.*

After demands in a lawsuit filed by the ACLU, a public school district in Louisianna stopped allowing prayers before football games and other school events.*

A public employee of the Tehama County Child Protection Services Agency in Redbluff, California began displaying a Bible in his cubicle and meeting with fellow workers during lunch for prayer. He was told to stop
praying and remove his Bible. A judge sided with the state against the employee.**

A lawsuit threat from the ACLU of Indiana prompted a high school in the Indianapolis area to drop its tradition of prayer at graduation after receiving a single complaint from just one student.***

The ACLU filed a lawsuit to prohibit the Gideons from distributing Bibles at a school in St. Louis, MO. The ACLU wanted to use the case to ban Bible distribution in communities across the nation.****

Under intimidation from the ACLU a school district in Florida consented to ban all employees from engaging in prayer or religious activities, whether before, during, or after school hours.*****

The ACLU filed a complaint against noon-meal prayers at the US Naval Academy.******

These are only a few of the thousands of lawsuits and intimidation tactics of the vile organization ACLU.

CHRISTIANITY OUT - MUSLIMS IN!

“Traditional Values.org, in an article from June 24, 2008 reports “All over the United States radical Muslims are pushing companies to bow to Islamic law known as Sharia....efforts are already underway here in America to introduce Sharia enclaves in some communities. What Muslims are doing has been referred to as “creeping Sharia” - that is, getting companies, communities and states to change policies in order to force everyone to obey Sharia law....Caribou coffee shops and Church’s Fried Chicken are Saudi-owned companies which operate and manage their employees based on Sharia principles.” Additionally, from 4/2010,
traditionalvalues.org comes this headline and story: “CAIR ANNOUNCES VICTORY. April 23, 2010 - Washington, DC - Nihad Awad, a founder of the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and its chief public spokesman, was the first to start taking a victory lap and announce that evangelist Franklin Graham was “disinvited” from a National Day of Prayer ceremony at the Pentagon. This attack on Franklin Graham and
Christians was engineered by CAIR and it has the fingerprints of Barack Obama’s White House all over it, said Tradition Values Coalition Executive Director Andrea Lafferty. Nihad Awad and CAIR offer us a preview of what America will be like if they are ever successful....There is zero tolerance for anything at variance with
Islam.” A video posted on youtube shows English speaking Muslims living in America protesting America. This is an excerpt of their words of protest - “Just to show where our loyalty belongs to, you see this flag here” (they then throw the American Flag on the ground and begin stomping on it) “Our loyalty does not belong to
this flag, our loyalty belongs to the laws of (Islam).... We disassociate ourselves to represent anything that this flag stands for, represents or calls for.... It is we, Islam, who will dominate all other religions, to dominate the United States, to dominate the world.” However, Obama Praises Islam as 'Great Religion' (AP - foxnews.com 9/1/09) President says Islam is "part of America," hails the religion's "commitment to justice and progress" As one person said “welcoming your enemies as immigrants by the millions is not a good idea.”

An article posted by Christian Ministries International very concisely and accurately says this....“Islam is a beautiful and peaceful religion”. Have you ever heard this claim before? If you’ve watched any news
commentary shows or read any editorials in your local newspaper recently, I’d be willing to bet you have. Ever since the tragic events of 9/11, the Islamic propaganda machine and the liberal media have been doing everything they can to convince the American public that in-spite of what we see on the news every night,Islam really is a “beautiful and peaceful religion”. Unfortunately, this claim is simply false.
Consider this: where in the world is the beautiful and peaceful Muslim country that millions of people are trying to immigrate to? Where in the world is that beautiful and peaceful Muslim culture that other nations so strongly admire? Where in the world has the beautiful and peaceful religion of Islam created a society characterized by freedom, justice, and human rights for all? Where in the world has the beautiful and peaceful religion of Islam
produced economic prosperity and opportunity for the majority of its adherents? The sad truth to all of the above questions is that there is no such beautiful and peaceful Muslim country or
culture anywhere in the world....the fact remains that nowhere in the world do we find this so-called “beautiful and peaceful religion” of Islam producing a society characterized by freedom, justice, and prosperity. What has the religion of Islam truly produced in the lives and societies of its adherents? Terrorism, human rights abuses, slavery, poverty, warfare, hopelessness, hatred of Jews and Christians… these are the actual
fruit of this religion. And this shouldn’t surprise us when you consider the fact that in the Koran, the Muslim holy book, there are over 100 verses directing Muslims to fight and kill Jews, Christians, and other Infidels. And it shouldn’t surprise us when you see that Mohammed, the founder and prophet of Islam, left his followers with an example of military conquest and plunder. And it shouldn’t surprise us when you understand that the religion of Islam is nicknamed “the religion of the sword”. These are the roots of this religion (evil roots = evil religion = evil fruit… and Jesus told us, “you will know them by their fruit.”)....2005 Christian Ministries

What then, as Christians, must you and I do? Two things: we must pray for them and at the same time remember our duty and divine responsibility to stand immovable and unshakeable in defense of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. We must maintain a deep, solid, unwavering foothold in the life-changing, all-powerful, un-compromised eternal Word of God. We must remember that God has not sent us into a playground, He has sent us into a battleground. As we stand in Jesus’ Name against evil here in the physical earthly realm there is an even greater battle being fought in the spiritual realm which we can not see. The devil is pure evil,but he is not stupid. The devil knows the Bible probably better than any man. He knows that he is a defeated foe and he knows how the Bible ends. He knows that he has a limited amount of time and that is why he is so fierce. That’s why we are seeing such an unprecedented increase in wickedness throughout the world, because He wants to keep as many people from Heaven as he can before his time runs out. Don’t allow him to
claim you as one of his captives. Jesus left the glory of His throne in Heaven and came all the way to earth to set the captive free. The only one who can keep you from Heaven - is you. Christ has already done all the work, He has paid the price and took upon himself the penalty that you and I deserve. He lovingly paid a debt
that He did not owe because we owed a debt that He knew we could never possibly pay. Every person fettered by the heavy chains of sin, and guilt, and shame has within their reach the key to unlock those chains and forever be set free. The key to the lock is the Cross of Christ, but only you can take it and place it in the
keyhole as His precious shed blood turns the tumblers, pops the lock, and sets you free. But don’t put it off because you never know when it will be too late. Nothing else matters, nothing else means anything at all until you first settle the question of Jesus Christ in your life. The devil wants you to wait, Jesus wants you to invite Him into your heart as your personal Lord and Saviour today. “Now is the time” Jesus said, “Now is day to accept salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2). For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul, and what shall the end be of them that obey not the Gospel of God? (Mark 8:36 & 1 Peter 4:17).
