The Sun Found Me
At a time when all I knew was pain, the sun found me.
While living in and out of the rain, the sun found me.
It found me with its warm and shining rays, as it came to diminish my cloudy days.
The days that found me sad and alone, the days that caused my heart to moan.
Moan the loss of all I’d lost, to find out suddenly He’d paid the cost.
The cost for me to finally be free, to be filled with a life of longevity,
time, chance, and circumstance have been just a few the things that created my trance
I feel its warmth calling my name, saying ‘arise and shine, gone now is the rain.’
The rain that once almost washed me away, but somehow today it has paved my way.
What I fought once to keep and conceal, I now find myself wanting to run and reveal.
Reveal the memories of all that it brings, for once I want to forget the memories that cling.
Cling to my mind the has been and regrets, the never more to be, and the pain of neglect.
For once in my life I want to be free, free from the things that threaten to hinder me
Well I’m free, free, yes free indeed, because the Son had supplied all of my needs.
But wait one moment; I want you see, that this is the day that the Son found me.
