An Act of faith
At the age of 26 I felt God leading into full time telephone work. I had been working as a nanny full time for years and part time on my phone job in the evenings. The opportunity was presented to me to work full time at phone work and I took a step of faith and took the job. Why was this a step if faith? I was exchanging working on a weekly guaranteed amount in being a nanny with my phone job which was a commission based job and I would have to trust God to provide my daily needs. It truly was an act of faith.
Matthew 14:22-30 speaks of Peter getting out of the boat he was in to walk on the water to go to Jesus. Peter trusted Jesus until he looked down at his circumstances and where he really was and then he began to sink, yet when he cried out to Jesus” save me”; Scripture says Jesus stretched forth his hand and caught him [ verse30]. Do you believe Jesus will do any less than that for you? Jesus catches us more than we probably realize nor will we until we get to heaven and see how many times Jesus caught us too. I used to have a bumper sticker that read: “ if you want to walk on the water, you gotta get out of the boat”. How true that is. Missionaries have to trust God to provide their needed funds.
What boat does Jesus want you to get out of? What area of life do you need to step out and trust that God will work things out for you if you take that step of faith? I can think of some areas in my life, how about you?
Prayer: LORD, I am thankful you have helped me so many times to place my trust in you and step out in faith and watch you open doors and work all things together for your glory and my good. In Jesus blessed name amen.
