A heart of compassion,
Being humble and kind;
Takes away depression,
While easing the mind.

Forgiving each other,
Is taming your temper;
And cools one another;
As bitterness will damper.

Just as God forgave you,
You need to do as well;
Making love your virtue,
Within your heart to dwell.

For above all these things,
The bond of perfection;
To the heart as it clings,
God gives as protection.

Let Christ rule in your heart,
Where He can put His throne;
Never letting Him part,
That would leave you alone.

Doing in word or deed,
Whatever it may be;
Do as the Lord decreed,
Citing His love for me.
