Encouragement
Revelations 7:16-17
16 "Never again will they hunger;never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat.
17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
I guess I should start this by saying that still now, the fire in my chest burns like a never ending flame. I admit that this fire started in anger, in frustration, in fear of the what ifs, but God, in His Mercy, has turned the raging fire into a holy revolution.
I think I need to explain further, right?
For the past couple of weeks, while my crew and I were preparing for our church's youth campaign, there was this strange sense of emptiness on my heart. I knew I had to do something else, but I did not know where to begin, or start looking. I went into prayer, but my soul did not find the peace I desperately needed. I sang the songs of the redeemed, but still my soul kept searching deeper. And then last night, after not sleeping at all, it all came to me in a whisper... what was the purpose of dancing and singing to the Lord, if I kept doing it INSIDE the church and not share it with the rest of the world?
One o'clock in the morning, still no sleep and there I was, turning Rahab on to sooth me with some music. For some reason, the song that came out was Kirk Franklin's Revolution. While I heard the lyrics, I went back in time when somebody else gave me the hand when I most needed it, and got me back to Christ. That somebody took the time to talk to me, to see beyond my walls and to let me know that even tough life ain't has been no crystal stair for me, Jesus was there to wipe my tears away. That I was given a chance to be loved, redeemed and saved. And when I got back to reality, to my living room, and another song came in, I had no other choice but to cry and got to my knees... in the happiness of being saved and developing my own relationship with Christ, I had forgotten of the others who, like me, are on the same boat I was three years ago.
So today, at almost noon, God in His Grace has shown me the way one more time... for those of you in fear, in anger, in depression, in religion, in anxiety, in the bottom of the barrel, whatever you want to call your storm, there are good news. The Holy Revolution is already here, and we will be there, in the corner of the street, at the post office, at our schools, our jobs, at the cafe, shouting to whoever wants to hear it that Jesus is King, that He saves, He delivers, He redeems, and the best thing, that He loves you.
Peace!
