And tonight, believe me, my kitchen floor became holy ground!

How can this be possible? I tell you, it is and it can be possible. The Word says, “"With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." (Matthew 19:26) Enough of the babbling already and let’s go straight to the experience. I truly hope you can have the same and much more with God. That is my prayer for you.

The church I go to happens to be 17 miles by water and a couple of other miles by land. For those of you who are new to this page, I am from Puerto Rico (beautiful island, by the way). Seventy-six towns are on the mainland. The other two are small islands a couple of nautical miles on the Eastern Shore of the Mainland. I happen to live in one of them (guys, I have been blessed! I live in paradise! That would be Culebra Island. You can check it out on the net. Amazing beaches and no fast food restaurants!) Anyway, long story short, tonight was prayer night, so I turned Rahab on (that would be my Mac Book) to watch the service on the net. I got some hot raspberry tea, some toast, my favorite chair, and my Bible. Little did I know that the Holy Spirit had other plans, and those did not involve any raspberry tea.

Prayer service began with worship, but as it moved along, I felt a wind coming from the kitchen windows. It was not a harsh wind, but a gentle breeze. The congregation was on their feet, giving praise… and I was straight on the floor, crying my guts out! The Lord decided to pay me a visit, and deal with me personally, right there, on my humble kitchen. The Lord decided that it was time to put me on the crossroads. He asked me, with love, gently, what was I going to do with what He has given me. He told me, gently, that it was time for me to decide to walk ON HIS PERFECT WILL. Do you know what it means to walk on His Perfect Will? To walk on His Perfect Will means to die to myself so He can live in me. To walk in His Perfect Will means that my flesh will rebel to anything that He tells me to do, but out of obedience, out of love for Him, I do it. To walk in His Perfect Will means that I will not understand His ways, but I have to trust Him, knowing He knows best, even if the rest of the world think I have gone nuts. What God was asking of me was my COMPLETE SURRENDER. No more excuses, no more decisions on the run, no more “I am the master of my own destiny”. And I might have not seen the burning bush as Moses did, but I did feel the burning of the Holy Spirit all over me.

In the past, I used to say that I was the forger of my path. I answered to nobody, catered to nobody and I could come and go as I pleased. Oh yes, God tried many, many times to talk to me and turn me around. But I admit it… I can be a hardhead when I want to. However, God will let us run as far as we can go, and, when we get tired, He will be there, oh yes! And that will be the end of the running away and face the music, believe me. Tonight, on the kitchen floor, my race from God came to a halt.

God is not looking for the cold feet, the Sunday goers, the ones that with a couple of songs, some dances, and a well done sermon, can go all week like nothing ever happened. My brother, my sister, what God is looking for is for true worshipers, the ones with the knees to pray, even if the knees are tired. God does not want our flirting, God wants A COMMITMENT. We are His Bride, not his weekend girlfriend. And I am happy to say that I made that commitment with Him, on my kitchen floor. Oh! And don’t get me wrong, with this I am not saying (and God forbids that I ever do) that now I am this “holier than thou” Christian. No sir, not even close. God knows my low points, He knows my weaknesses, He knows me well enough! But He also sees my possibilities, and He sees the purpose that I have not seen yet.

Tonight my kitchen became holy ground, and God spoke to me. Are you ready to listen to what God has to say to you? Let the Holy Spirit turn the place you are standing into holy ground and step into it. Make the commitment. Step into holiness.
