(Written 3-10-04)

My evening comes, but not as planned,
Sleep fails to come for me;
I find I’m under His teaching hand,
No answer comes, despite my plea.

The hours fly, the sky is quiet,
Yet, His word’s in my heart;
This heart is now a raging riot,
In spite of knowing He’ll never part.

“I mean for good, this you know,
Will you follow, where I go?
Will you worship, where you stand,
Knowing My plan is so grand?”

You are famous, You are holy,
Thanks that You love this one worldly.
You are wise, You are grace,
You strengthen me to run my race.

Waking up this wondrous morning,
I stumble ‘neath Your sunlight;
I fail to see Your Spirit leading,
As I trudge on with my weak might.

Learning my life’s not meant for ease,
You show me how I’m unstable;
I’m meant to live as You please,
And You give grace so I’m able.

“I mean for good, this you see,
As I lead, just follow Me.
I have shown you how you falter,
Now, return to My alter.”

You are famous, You are holy,
Thanks that You love this one worldly.
You are wise, You are grace,
You strengthen me to run my race!

You’ve given me gifts, spiritual,
With wisdom, by Your grace;
My life with You is more than ritual,
Yet, I fail to keep my place.

“Spiritual gifts, I do not seek,
Along with this said wisdom;
I desire to make you meek,
Conform you for My kingdom.

“I mean for good, this you know,
Will you follow, where I go?
Will you worship, where you stand,
Knowing My plan is so grand?

“I mean for good, this you see,
As I lead, just follow Me.
I have shown you how you falter,
Now, return to My alter.”

You are famous, You are holy!
Thanks that You love this one worldly!
You are wise, You are grace!
You strengthen me to run my race!
