Death is never easy even when it's expected. My grandma passed away december 31,2009. Then my mother in law and my father in law both passed away within two weeks of each other in feburary 2010. It's been such a difficult journey to go through. My grandmother was more a like a mom too me. My husband was very close to both his mom and dad so it's been hard on both of us to process it all. However I know it is our faith that has kept us going and even strangely to say made us stronger. Stronger in a sense we have both grown closer to God and stronger in our relationship with Him. I think because in this difficult time we have come to rely on Him completey. Stronger in another sense that we both know were they are all and they are happier than they have been in a long time and their not sick anymore. There are some days that it's hard though Easter was very difficult I found myself relying on God more than I ever have in my life. Not real sure how we are going to deal with mother's day that is going to be hard. I have found that through all of this it's not what you go through but how you go through it that matters. I could choose to mope around and feel sorry for myself and there have been a few times I have felt myself leading down that path and so whenever I do I pray to God for strenght and put on a good praise and worship tape and go to my bible. I refuse to give into the enemy because if God be for me who then can be against me.

I pray you find solace and hope and continued strength in your grieving. Here is a link to something I wrote on the anniversary of my wife's death:
