blessings overflowing
from this cup I hold
pouring rapidly, steadily
the flow never ceasing
images flash through the river
the waterfall of blessing
that cascades from this vessel
I see faces
hear voices
feel the warmth of gentle hugs
genuine smiles
soft laughter
and lots of love
the memories pass swiftly from my sight
each image quickly replaced by a new one
as the river continues to rush over the rim of my cup
yet the imprint remains
etched inside of me
a new torrent begins
as a dam is broken loose
and a waterfall breaks free
this is a new river
coming from within and rushing down my face
I have realized the value of the images I see
the lasting impressions they have made on my soul
each face
each voice
each smile
each word
each touch
will forever remain in my memory of blessings
people I hold dear
and those I do not realize hold me dear
have made a mark on my heart
that cannot easily be erased
I see now how important these images are
how many blessings I have received
without noticing
I look down at the vessel I hold in my hands
the river still runs
swiftly
steadily
as if it has no end
each image is quickly replaced by a new one
