Here Today, Gone Tomorrow!
James 4:14

Dear one, our time is really so short. It seems just yesterday that I was washing diapers and preparing baby bottles. Now I have grown grandchildren. Where did the time go? I do not know! James is so right in this passage…life is like a vapor that disappears in a moment.

Days in a classroom when I was a child seemed endless. The minutes dragged on. My grandmother said, “Child, as you grow older you will think the time is flying by.” I could not understand then; but now I do.

I have learned not to plan too much for “tomorrow”. Carpe Diem. Let us put as much good into this day as we are able knowing that “only what we do for Christ will last.”

John Wesley challenges us with this: “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can. To all the people you can, as long as ever you can.”

What an admonition for daily living. Won’t it be great to hear the Father say, “Well done”? Time is short at best, dear one. Invest it in someone else!

“Father, Please help me to realize fully the brevity of life and not take for granted even the next moments. You give every breath of life. I will value today and invest it in You. Amen”
