You may have a vision about something you would like to do in your life. The significance of a vision is that it is something you wake up passionate about in the morning and go to bed passionate about at night. It is good to appreciate your potential and know what you are capable of doing. But at the same time you will need someone to appreciate you, notice your potential and give you good advice to see you through. When you walk in the deep valleys, you will need someone to give you advice without a hidden agenda of tricking you to failure.

There will of course be the issue of funds; this need not worry you because God will put you in touch with the right people. What you need to do is to share your vision but do not say what you need. What people need to do is to buy your vision then the rest becomes easy.

A vision is a picture of a preferred future, a mental vision of what you dream about, it is your response to a certain discontent that you have noted in the society. You are all created to glorify God’s name by using the unique talents that He has given you to make a difference in this life. For spiritual leaders, vision is understood as revelation; it is not about a group of people sitting down and deciding or wondering what to do about something because if God has a plan, it is going to happen, the question is are you going to be a part of it?

A vision is a commitment to the future. It is not an obsession with the past and a continuous reminiscing of what was and can never again be. It is not selfish that we have to do it now! Immediately! It calls for planning and an appreciation of the fact that hurried short term decisions can prevent long term achievements. A vision creates meaning and establishes a standard of excellence. Success is measured to the extent that you are making progress towards your vision.

You have talents that will only remain active and regenerative if you use them. In Joshua 14:10 is Caleb who saw things from God’s perspective. He remained strong and patient waiting for his inheritance. At the age of eighty five, he was willing to go to the hill country and possess his inheritance.

Your mission is your assignment; your vision is your dream. You get to your vision by exercising your mission which is your ‘how to’.

God is constantly at work redeeming, reconciling and restoring His children so that they can accept salvation and walk with Him to their destinies. A vision that is aligned to God’s destiny is what you need. Let the Holy Spirit whisper it in your ear and tell you exactly why God created you.
