When I come to the end of life's journey

and I find myself face to face,

With the one who paid my ransom

Will He know me and will I hear him say.


"Well done, come-on-in, you've been faithful

Oh, I've waited so long for this day!"

Will He take me in his arms and embrace me,

Or will He say,"I never knew you," and turn me away?"


You see I've lived my life, I've made my choices,

And now it's time to settle the score.

Did I live for this world and its pleasures,

Or did I love and serve Jesus my Lord.


When it's all said and done, there'll be no excuses,

We all have to stand before the Lord.

As for me, this one thing's for certain

I've got to hear him speak those precious words.


"Well done, come-on-in, you've been faithful

Then He'll take me in his arms and embrace me,

And forever with Jesus I'm gonna stay!
