Shipbuilders must pay careful attention. They check each seam to make sure it will hold back water. Even a tiny hole can spell disaster. God says, “Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands” (Prov. 14:1).

A wise builder follows the specs for the ship. If it is not built right, it will sink.

If he does not understand the pattern, he asks questions of others, perhaps the designer. A shipbuilder, too proud to consult others, may make many blunders.

It takes time to build a ship. Noah’s ark took him 120 years to construct (Gen. 6:3). This required much patience of Noah and his family.

Noah’s loving hands prepared the ship for his family’s safety. He loved his neighbors, too. While he worked on the ark, he warned them of the coming flood and urged them to believe (2 Pet. 2:5).

Some parts for the ship weigh much. It necessitates a strong worker. If she has trouble at home, a pending divorce, or an illicit relationship, she will not keep her mind on what she does. A shoddy product results.

Some ships are built with seven masts. The masts hold up the sails. Our life ship has seven masts or sails.

A virtuous woman builds her lifeship with pure morals. She has strength of character. As Queen Esther, she courageously stands for the right. She avoids evil and decides the best means to do something. She guards her tonight so she will not say nor do the wrong thing. Dr. Bob Jones, Sr., said, “Do right. If the stars fall, do right.”

On the other hand, a pirate blurts out the first thing that comes into her mind. This pulls down the masts that holds the sails. They cannot catch the wind and propel the ship. She runs into the craigs and the coral reefs.
