Today, I found myself rejoicing over President Bush's announcement about a proposed amendment to ban gay marriages. He continues to earn my admiration for taking a stand for what he knows to be right even when he knows the opposition he'll face. Whatever backlash he faces and Christians may face because of his association with Christianity I can shrug off because his actions were right. What we do won't necessarily draw applause, but more often criticism for the world does not love God's ways. Now, if only he would protect the sanctity of marriage against some of those idiotic, satanic, reality shows...

Incidentally, whatever faults President Bush may have had in his actions last year, I believe the war against Iraq was right. We must take a stand against evil or we are cowards and, worse, by letting evil slide by we act as lovers of the world and therefore enemies of God. Christians must fight against evil with all the strength they can muster, and sometimes that will involve warfare. President Bush is to be commended for his actions despite the opposition of such weak-willed world leaders as the ones in France.
