NEED AN ENERGIZER

It is amazing and worrying in these times that the dependence on medication (prescription and non-prescription), caffeine-containing-drinks and energy-inducing-drinks and the like has soared and of course the need keeps rising for more daily.
Even the young ones are not left out of this odyssey; they gulp it down the way they do any other soft drink!
Everyone has a good reason when asked why? “Oh I need it to function properly at work / in my profession”, “I need it to calm my nerves” (I also heard that it helps raise blood pressure for those who are on the low side????), “I need it to keep off FAT!” some sincerely confess in plain language that it helps to boost depleting energy because of not enough sleep or rest.
And that is the purpose of writing this article! REST, it is so crucial for the human body but we hardly ever give it enough, I guess for countless reasons, some genuine because it can’t be helped, others not-so-genuine.
Those with genuine reasons struggle through life’s countless activities (Basically: home, career and social interactions) because they have to do so much on their own without help or those who are supposed to be their HELP-MATE (Family members, friends or close colleagues) are not-helpful in any sense and because things have to GET DONE, THEY END UP DOING IT ALL ALONE ALL OF THE TIME!
Those without genuine reasons pile on activities that are really not so necessary but more of burdens in life and which do not give them a chance to slow down and naturally re-energize
In each case, the body’s natural clock runs down and needs to be wound up one-way-or-another, thus the need for chemical and artificial boosters that eventually do more harm than good whenever stress levels rise(which seems to be ALL OF THE TIME)!
The body needs proper diet and adequate rest to recuperate and function at its optimum as the Almighty made it; he even gave us guidelines on WHAT-NOT-TO-EAT (and of course what-to!)
This body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, we should Endeavour to keep it in every way, well.

Oh what peace we often forfeit,
Oh what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry,
EVERYTHING TO GOD IN PRAYER

When we pray, Jesus lets us know what we still need in our lives and what needless ones to be discarded before they get us to early graves which is not what He wants because He still needs you and I here to function on the assignment at hand!
There is no better place to be than at the feet of our savior nor is there a cozier environment than in His arms, when your heart is turned to Him He meets you in love, boosting depleted resources.
