When I promised you my love with the words I do.
I did not know that your words were untrue.
I stayed faithful to you through all the lies.
Now you are the one saying goodbye.
For years I prayed that the lord set you free.
Free from all the demons that you would not see.
It did not matter to you in the end.
The demons fought and you let them win.
So here I am sad and out of time
I did everything to keep you mine.
But you turned your heart from god to stone.
And gave in to your lust on your own.
Your affections for me are gone in the wind.
It is a shame that no one dared to call it sin.
So I will let you go with a tear in my eye.
It is so hard for me to have to say goodbye.
But I will continue to pray to the lord for you.
That one day you will see what you know is true.
