Peace
Isaiah 26:3-4 states: Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusteth in thee. Trust in the LORD forever, for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.
The Hebrew word for keep means guard, watch over, to be kept close.
The Hebrew word for perfect and peace both mean complete.
The Hebrew word for stayed means to lean, rest or support.
The Hebrew word for trusteth means to have confidence, bold and secure.
The Hebrew word for strength is rock, cliff, rock of God
These beautiful verses carry great meaning.
The Lord guards, and watches over our minds and gives complete peace when we lean on and rest in him. We can have confidence in him, and know we are secure. He is our rock.
Jesus said it well in John 14;27- Peace I leave with you, my peace, I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
We live in a troubled world. Just waking every day can spell trouble. Jesus is our only hope for peace. Even when we are faced with trouble on all sides, Jesus gives us completeness. He is our only hope for peace amidst troubled circumstances. Trusting in God can be difficult at times, especially when we look at our circumstances. My mom used to tell me to trust in God only. Looking at the difficulties can smite us with fear. I am often tempted to try and figure out the circumstances rather than putting my life and circumstances in the Lord’s hands. 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Prayer; Lord help me to trust in you amidst all the fear and trouble life can bring daily. Help me to take my troubles to you and leave them there. In Jesus name amen.
