Poetry
all gentle and full of light
coaxing open barred corridors
hinges long ago rusted shut
with his words
I thought he was a river wonderful
they filled me like a stream
trickling into the mortuary
finding their way to the marrow
until only the garbled
echoes of my gasping
flickering heartbeat
resonated within
whispered my demise
to a world that wasn't listening
drowning on the inside
all filled up with his lies
that no one could hear
but me
