The Illusion

My eyes lift to the sky
looking through fear and distress
seeing my illusion and not Beauty
the mind is torn

the feelings are overbearing and false
the sky begins to turn dark
and then black
my eyes are blind

but instead of reaching for Beauty
I reach far away
Still wanting the illusion
but he doesn’t want me

reaching, I am screaming for light
the illusion is quickly fading
I can’t catch it
he left me again and is gone forever

My illusion is comfortable
but not Truth

I am now uncovered and cold
allowing the beginning of warmth
Warmth bringing light and Beauty

The illusion is dead,
but Beauty is alive.

Still seeing fear,
He says, “I will keep you from all harm and will watch over your life, I love you.”

This preventing blindness

only through this may my eyes see
only through this will I be free
only through this will the illusion be dead.
