My heart was filled with darkness;
So many years ago.
Depression filled my life;
And in my face it showed.

I was broken inside;
my suffering was long.
There were times in my heart;
I didn't know what was wrong.

I couldn't keep it inside me;
all the prssure that I felt.
So in my quiet place;
Is where I finally knelt.

I prayed for His forgivness;
For His light to come to me.
To fill my heart with joy;
To help me truly see.

My prayer was finally answered;
As my eyes filled with tears.
He filled my heart with light;
And took away my fears.

I no longer cry my life away;
Or have lack or disinterest in life.
For my heart is filled with light;
I no longer feel the strife.

Thank You Jesus for Your light;
To light my every step.
It is deeply in my heart;
Oh; the tears of joy I wept.
