Early in the Morning

Early in the morning, coffee in hand
Climb on the bus, say hello to a friend


Up bumpy roads, down narrow streets
Into the neighborhood to find them we must

Our message is simple, it is very clear
It’s a message of hope that Jesus is near

Some may come quickly, giving Jesus their all,
But most cannot hear it, won’t respond to the call

The homes have grown old, life’s taken its toll
The neighborhood’s colder as we fight for its soul.

Many will listen, just a few will respond
But we must keep on shining, for the Glory of God

Early in the morning, coffee in hand
Onto the bus, to shine the light once again
