I'm dreaming of a white christmas... that's my fave
song last month. Would this always stay a
dream?
I often ask my friends about winter-- because
everytime I imagine this season, it is like a myth...
"a once upon a time story in a far far away kingdom.."
My mind is just small to comprehend this season... I
can't imagine to have a snow everywhere... Frozen
surroundings...

When I watched Narnia--- my highlight was not the Lion
but I repeatedly asked my
German friend-- Is that true--- the snow.
They said that winter is so dry ... Everything seems
dead.

My last visit to China was during winter... Very cold!
Though the places that I went to had no snow... Just
COLD! Everyday I was longing for the sunshine...
Wishing for a warm air. I was overwhelmed by coldness,
until I said I am not for the winter place.
Trees were still there but mostly no leaves, but on
the next 2 months of my stay--- the first days of
spring--- I saw buds of different colors were coming
out of the branches of the same tress... The tress were
still alive and healthy... The warm breeze hugged
me... It was good... There's life again I said.

But today I understand that there is always life even
in winter. And I think life is stronger at this time
for it is fighting and wrestling with coldness...
numbness and I could say maybe even with death.
I was pondering about it since this morning. And God
put this thought in my heart... GOD IS NOT ON HOLIDAY
DURING WINTER TIME! His focus is on the roots. Making
our roots stronger--- Preparing us for the next
seasons... so that whatever typhoons may come along we
will not be shaken for our roots has been established
during the severe coldness.

Now, I realized, during my winter time in China... I
missed to recognize that there is beauty on it.
Friends, I am talking about winter time in the natural
and spiritual.

If you are in this season right now... Though in the
midst of freezing coldness... Take time to stop... Let
us not allow this time to pass without discovering and
enjoy it's uniqueness. Let's discover together the
beauty that is hidden in this season for soon it will
be spring.
