Proverbs 10:12 states: Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

In this verse we have a contradictory of terms: hate and love. Haven’t you noticed that when someone has a hatred for God, they incite trouble? It’s the same when someone has hatred for a person. Contention rises up and steals joy, kills relationships, and destroys communities.

On the contrary, there is love. Love isn’t the opposite of hate. The opposite of love is selfishness and we know that it is by what 2nd Corinthians chapter 13 tells us what love looks like.

Love, instead of inciting arguments and divisions, excuses offenses or mistakes. This is important to acknowledge here because part of love is forgiveness. At first love forgives the mistakes that are made. Mistakes are things done to you with no intent of harm. Offenses can be either done on purpose or without intent of harm. Either way, forgiveness needs to be implemented.

It is the reason that we can come to God boldly to the throne of grace. No longer do we need to run and hide from Him. No longer do we need to do rituals of sacrifice in order to cover what we have done. It was His great love for you that caused Him to create a plan to bring you back to rightful place in the universe: and that is place of being His child. The sacrifice has been made. You don’t need to add anything to it. The only act on your behalf is receiving it.

Forgiveness is available today for you. God forgives you. Reach out and take it.
