"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send?" And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here I am. Send me!" He said, "Go tell this people...." Isaiah 6: 8,9a I begin my article by asking, "How will we get to where He wants us to go, and to do what He wants us to do?" Isaiah was flesh and blood like you and me. He had no special abilities in and of himself. He had no special insight into the spirit realm that you and I cannot, ourselves, possess. But one day...one ordinary day in his life..or so it seemed, Isaiah over-heard a conversation that put him in alignment with the course God had already laid out for him. (I encourage you to read all of Isaiah chapter six). Now, there is something about hearing the voice of the Lord that changes us! It explodes within us and it demands a response on our part! I believe all this happened to Isaiah when he heard the voice of the Lord! Please notice that God did not at first reveal the job description. He simply said, "Whom shall I send?" And, "Who will go for us? Isaiah volunteered without even knowing what the job responsibilities would be, and how long would be the assignment. But he did ask the Lord a question in verse eleven, "How long is this job going to take, Lord?" The Lord replied, in essence...."As long as it takes to get the job done." This is normally how He works in our lives today. If we hang around Him long enough, we, too, will hear His voice, and we, too, will have a decision to make. It is my own personal desire to be so in love with my Lord, that when He begins to look for a volunteer, I will agree to go and do what needs to be done, for His Glory. Regardless of the task involved, regardless of what road it might lead me down, and regardless of how long it takes to get the job done, may I always be willing. Blessings to you today, as you live in His presence and obey His voice. Barbara Thompson Young 01-09-10

Barb, you are such an encouragement to me, both in your writing and comments you usually leave at my posts. Just wanted you to know that I appreciate and cherish you. May the Lord bless and keep you as He continues to inspire you to write and bless His people.

Deep insight, Barb. Challenged by Isaiah offering to go without knowing beforehand what he was commiting himself to. This reminds me of one thing: Our availability is more important than our ability. If we avail ourselves, God will give us the ability (more than we thought possible)

Very good article. We all have to just walk one step at a time with the leading of the Holy Spirit and the job will be completed in God's time. Thank you for sharing and reminding each of us to just 'trust Him'.
God Bless you.

My dear friend - just the other day Dara found a picture of you that was hanging on our prayer wall in New Mexico (she is reworking the prayer wall in her home) and your picture kept popping up in different places around the house - so she told me that she wasn't at all sure who you are but she felt that she was supposed to pray for you!! Then here today I get an email that you have posted a new article! Great article by the way! Powerful message! Praying for you! Lifting you up!! Know that God is all there is! Love Jounda
