I will say no; simply because I believe the Bible to be literal. Day one: God created light. So here we have in the beginning God creating light; then on day two He divided the waters so there was water on the earth and water in the heavens. On the third day He created the land and the land and the sea; they were separated and the land brought forth trees, plants, grass etc. On the fourth day He created the stars, planets, the sun and the moon. There were no millions of light years before the stars were seen; God diffused all of it at once. Remember, He is God, He speaks and it is there. On the fifth day, He created all the animals, fish, and fowl. And on the sixth day, He created man.

I believe that God dragged this creation plan out for six (24 hour) days because He has a sense of humor and wanted man to go crazy trying to figure out what He did. He could have done everything in one day or one hour; He is God, after all. Of course He added to the confusion with the flood. Layers of sediment were formed as the waters were abated from the earth causing men to believe that it took millions of years between layers, when it didn't. Dinosaurs were created at the same time as the other animals and lived at the same time as man - the proof of that is found in fossils where human and dinosaur prints, bones, etc. are found superimposed on each other.

We do not have to hunt for some scientific explanation of a big bang, or that one day is as a thousand years, or the canopy theory or space aliens. All we need to do is believe the Bible. God invented science, He created the atom, He created all the knowledge and materials we would ever need to make our lives easier. Of course, being human we have misused much of it and are getting dumbed down instead of smarter.

Northrup laid the groundwork for investigating Geology in light of Creation; he traveled the globe many times doing extensive research that resulted in scientific facts to back up Creationism. For many years his work was not accepted, but was proved to be so by other scientists and accepted by them. If we skip the entire Bible and go to the book of Revelation it says: "And the City had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof," (Revelation 21:23); when eternity comes, there will no longer be the universe as we know it, no sun, moon or stars, God and the lamb will be the only light we need.
