My life has been a roller-coaster ride so far but in my suffering, I have always managed to keep faith in God. Through hard work and perseverance I have managed to overcome many obstacles, ultimately resuming my life amidst the numerous problems inherited from my delicate surgery. In this passage I am writing more about God’s presence in my life and his continued blessings. My book “Stepping Over Myself” goes more into my experiences before and after my surgery.
It was difficult to see all my aspirations and dreams as an athlete evaporate at 13 and a half, but by the grace of God I would be saved to tell my story and help others. The outlook though did not look so bright some 21 years ago, and the numerous medical mistakes in my diagnosis only worsened my odds of coming out alive. The surgery was groundbreaking in the field of brain surgery back then, and I was the guinea pig… after nine hours I would come out alive but at a terrible cost.
Years later after many countless battles I am resuming my life and God still guides me… through my faith in him I have met a girl on the Internet from Spain. The Girl is Dominican and is a great person with tremendous faith in God as well. Different cultures, language and distance were the physical barriers but there are none when it comes to the heart. God guided us and I am blessed to know her. After so many years of being alone and suffering in silence my soul mate has appeared. It is now one year after since we met online and I am back with her in Spain for two months. With God’s will I would like to marry and have a family one day. I will do my best to overcome my financial problems and I will keep my faith!
God sees all of us and as long as you are a genuinely nice person and have faith you can move mountains. With time good things will come…
