One day I'll stand before my God,
re-play this life of mine.
And this is such a probability
I'm sure to find.
I know I'll have no lawyer,
no solicitor pre-paid,
I know one day I shall be judged,
my life rewound on tape.

Yet, there with me will stand my angels
to recite my book,
for there are many pages,
oh, so like a running brook!
And I shall stand beside them,
place my feet upon hot sand,
whilst looking round, to meet my eyes
there'll be a barren land.

I'll bow my head with shame
at all the thoughts that I have shown.
And as the reel of film deduces
how much I have grown,
I'll lift my head with pride
in my belief of God, assured,
regrets I'll toss aside to dry
like seaweed bleached and blown.

My God, my judge will spread his arms
to measure how my mind
expanded at a certain place,
within a private time.
Between both God and I,
we found a compromise of grace
which led us to decide
that I at last, have seen God's face!
