Gone is the old year
As we merry and jolly
Let’s not forget all past folly


A new year in a new decade
Getting rid of all the past charade
Putting on the whole and complete armour
Where the joy of the LORD brings a world of humour


Away with all the façade called NEW YEAR’s resolutions
Trusting in the Lord with all might and all else that needs solutions
Leaning not on human intellect and understanding in an unknown decade
Rather passing on the message of goodwill to all people in this earthly parade
