Here is an emotional outpouring that ties the action and thought of the previous two lessons with joy. The breastplate of righteousness which protects from the power of lies frees us to endure the truth of the creation. Here is a song of celebration for the overcoming of many hardships.

66. Come and Hear

Make a joyful noise unto God, all you lands;
Sing out the honor of his name, make his praise glorious.
Say to God, “How terrible You are revealed in the majesty of your works!”
By the greatness of your power will your enemies submit to You.

All the earth shall worship You. They shall sing to You and to your name. So it will be.
Come and see what God has done, He is mighty in his works toward the children of men.
He turned the sea into dry land and they passed through the flood on foot,
It was there we rejoiced in Him.

He rules by his power for ever, his eyes see all nations,
There is no reason for the rebellious to rejoice. So it is.
O bless our God, all people, and make the voice of praise heard everywhere;
He holds our soul in this life and will not let our feet to be moved.

You, O God, have proved us; you have tried us as silver is tried.
You brought us into the net, we were made sick with worry and pain.
You caused men to have power over us, we went through fire and water,
But You brought us out again and gave us wealth and a place to live.

I will come to your temple with offerings, and I will pay You the vows,
Which my lips have uttered and my mouth has spoken when I was in trouble.
I will give You the finest of all I have. So it will be.
Come and hear, all You that fear God, and I will declare what He has done for my soul.

I cried to Him with my mouth and gave Him praise with my tongue,
If I hold hypocrisy in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:
But for certain, God has heard me, He has listened to the sound of my prayer.
Blest be God, who has not turned away my prayer, nor kept his mercy from me.

This song of salvation is the story of a people coming out of bondage and finding freedom, and it is the story of the individual overcoming the inner torment of separation and rebellion. God is revealed in terrible power that has caused the submission of all his enemies. All the earth will worship Him and rejoice in song.

There will be no reason for the rebellious to rejoice for all will be blessed and sing his praises. We were put through trials and were purified by it, we were brought out again and now have been made well. We will make our vows and gladly be held by them, they hold us to our path and our Creator hears our praises. He has heard the sound of our prayers for they are true: it is hypocrisy that does not come into his presence.
