Diamonds on the Rocks

I once wrote a poem entitled Diamonds in the Snow, which illuminated the treasures found in the wintery dance of the snow flakes.

Now I have seen diamonds radiating beneath my feet caught in the chambers of hardened concrete. Of course they're not real diamonds. But I allow it to symbolize the treasures to be found along this present journey (trial) for which I felt thrust into against my will.

But hope lies in knowing that the Lord is my vindicator. And there will be treasures to behold as I continue to press on. I must shake this recent assault off and leave it behind. For the prerequisite of a treasure hunt is to "Keep your eyes on the prize." Maintain your focus, stay the course and acknowledge the jewels along the way. Don't wallow in the injustice of the circumstances, just leave the judgement to the Lord and keep your eyes on Him and the treasures he will reveal to you for the trouble you must endure.

Treasures and jewels can be something as simple as a soft comfy chair to sit in and rest your feet; Or discovering the anointed voice of the illustrious Christian artist Jaci Velasquez. You see this is a time when you can take nothing for granted.

Little does my enemy realize how their efforts to ruin me only thrust me into a new dimension of trust in my Lord. Because I know He will never leave me nor forsake me. No matter how hard the trial. Others will fail us. I too am guilty of fumbling the ball. But our Heavenly Father never will. I delight in His guidance and comfort at a time when bewilderment is knocking, but I refuse to answer.

Eventually I saw thousands of tiny pieces of shattered glass atop of the concrete ground. I got the feeling that the diamonds had somehow escaped their captive chambers and their wealth had materialized just for me, symbolic of the treasures I will behold along this journey.

Lovely thought, but we know that more often the treasures of darkness consist of thoughts you never thought before, wonders you've never beheld, joys you never imagined, wisdom to pass on like a legacy, and knowledge of the unknown that will forever bless your life and hopefully others.

So we must endeavor to chronicle the treasures that emerge from our trials while we keep our eyes on the great and mighty God who will guide and comfort us while He teaches us how to resolve our crisis.
