Oh, this is hard,
To trudge through the day.
If not for Your word,
I’d walk away.

As time does pass,
Unlike Your word,
Hardships have come,
Sharp as a sword.

Yet, I want to know
All o’ Your heights,
To stay and see,
If I’ll get this right.

I want to know
All Your love’s might,
And I am staying,
To see Your blest sight.

Like a soldier I stand,
And hold Your ground.
Satan can’t take me,
And knock me down.

Unlike a soldier,
I cling to my Lord,
As He has bought me,
Made me His ward.

So, I want to know
All o’ Your heights,
To stay and see,
If I’ll get this right.

I want to know
All Your love’s might,
And I am staying,
To see Your blest sight.

As time does pass,
Unlike Your word,
Hardships have come,
Sharp as a sword.

Up to this time,
I did not see,
How sharpened hardships
Have sharpened me.

And I’ll come to know
All o’ Your heights,
To stay and see,
If I’ll get this right.

I want to know
All Your love’s might,
Want to be mistaken,
For the Son o’ the Right.
