...the breath to fill my stilled lungs;
...the lyrics of a song still unsung

...the color to stimulate my blinded eyes
...the skipped heartbeat indicating surprise

...the one who meets my burning passion
...the one complementing my strange fashion

...the one who'll finish my every sentence
...witness to my one life of repentance

...somewhere out there my missing hemisphere
...that half of my brain that i hold dear

...the one who grooves to the beat i play
...who says 'amen' after i pray

...the rib that's missing from my side
...the wife who'll always be my bride

...the cold hand i warm with my own
...my one answer for being alone

these thoughts i think on the verge of tears
flesh and bone to calm my fears
