Some time ago, a friend confronted another who seemingly had refused to
fall in love with any of his admirable friends.The guy in
question wondered why he’s yet to fall in love with any of his lovely
female friends.Worried by this sort of apathy to the issues of love,he
decided to bring the issue to God in prayer.

With knees bent in supplication, he prayed:

Lord,many talk about falling in love
But I can’t tell if I ever have
Many recall the heaving of the heart
The flushes of warm blood
The ceasing of breath
Eyes bated in admiration of another
The parting of the lips
The transfixed gaze
And all the currents that electrify them
When they meet someone they love

But why do they then talk of scars
When the feelings have waned?
Why do some recover from heartbreak?
And others banished to their graves
And left sullen, hating to love again?

I have had flashes of the above emotions
But they never have stayed long
And I wonder if my heart is callused
For it really looks strange to me
When others look at me twice
And I just notice them only once
Often I feel guilty for that you know
”Cos what I thought was right to give
Is short of what kind of love they expect!

Lord, deep within I know there’s love
Deeply buried within is this longing
I can’t deny: it’s there always
But am not sure of what to do about it
To stick to what I think is right
Or go with the crowd in this chase for love?
I will hold my breath and my heart
That peace may rule the depths of my being

Lord, please help me, I beseech you
I want to really fall in love with you
To say I have is entirely not true
But I know it’s my desire to love you
But aint sure I can prove that to others
For love can’t be hidden from the beloved
Who is the object and subject of affection
One whom he seeks to ever please

Just to fall in love with you lord
Is all that I need at this moment
For I know that when I truly love you
I’ll also fall in love with my beloved
Just like Adam did when he first saw Eve
Beyond falling in love ….
I want to remain in love forever
For this is my heart’s greatest longing!

That was how the prayer my friend had to pray and I really don’t know
exactly what God told him,but I guess God heard the honest longing of his
heart and would have answered him by now I believe. So when others feel a
sense of love and you don’t, cry out to God who Himself is the embodiment
and full personification of love.
