The Different Seasons Of Your Life
By Deline Tan
Genesis 8:22 – “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.”
The universe is ruled by seasons of the weather - winter, spring, summer and autumn. In Gen 8:22 it says that while the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease. Seasons are created by God, as He originally first planned the creation of the world.
Season talks about different timing and different circumstances and situations. Likewise for us, we are also ruled by seasons of our lives. Ecclesiastes 3:2-8 talk about a time to do everything. A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal, and so forth.
In the seasons of our lives, we must be sensitive as to what God is doing in our lives. We must tap on the different seasons that mark our lives, and we must quickly align ourselves to it. There may come forth a season of your life to study God’s Word or to be involved in ministry. But before that can happen, your present season would be to fast and pray for His timing and also to develop your character, to be moulded and shaped by the Master’s hand before He launch you out into ministry.
When we are in the wilderness, do those things that the season of wilderness has brought us. If God wants you to do nothing in this season, then do nothing. There will come a time when all is made clear and we shall proceed to do what He has called us to do. In the meantime, do those things that you are called to do right now and stay there.
God’s seasons in our lives come in stages. Usually when we are in the wilderness, it is because God wants to relate to us and is calling us to Himself. He is asking us to focus on Him and to know and find out what He has in store for us for our future. He wants us to seek His face diligently and be utterly dependent on Him. He is calling us to a time of intimacy with Him. However, many people mistaken this period to be the dry season and that God had abandoned them.
It is far from truth that when we are in the wilderness, we are out of God’s will. Infact, this is the very time to seek His will for our lives and allow Him to change and transform us to His image. God may use this time to draw our attention on Him, as we have been found to be very busy with our own lives and struggling to live on our own strength. Have you found yourself to be in this situation?
Discern the seasons that God has for your life. Be willing to make changes when you realize that God is calling you to Himself. Allow Him to work in your life and see miracles unfolding before your very eyes. When you are found faithful in your time with Him, the dry season will be over and you will experience a new lease of life in Him. Be open to allow Him to work in your life in the different seasons, and watch Him prune you to become the person that He wants you to be.
Allow God to be in the different seasons of your life, and make each season worth the while living for.
