It’s also like a man going off on an extended trip. He called his servants together and delegated responsibilities. To one he gave five thousand dollars, to another two thousand, to a third one thousand, depending on their abilities. Then he left. Right off, the first servant went to work and doubled his master’s investment. The second did the same. But the man with the single thousand dug a hole and carefully buried his master’s money.
Matthew 25:14-18 (MSG)

God makes no mistakes. In the story of the creation, it is written that God said, God saw and God called (Gen. 1:3, 4, 5). At the close of all He had called into existence, God called it good. Then He made the grand work of His hands, Man, a being made in the image and likeness of his Maker, endowed with a wealth of abilities and grace beyond comprehension. God beheld once again and this time called it VERY good. All of the creatures made by God do not have a problem being what they are created to be – birds fly, fishes swim and the land animals, domestic and wild alike, manifest according to their inherent nature. A fish, like other animals with their unique abilities, doesn’t struggle to swim because it was configured to do just that. Man on the other hand seems to find it hard to come to grips with his true identity which amongst other things meant to prosper and fill the earth. A man who is in honor, yet does not understand, is like the beasts that perish (Psalm 49:20). The gifts and callings God put on the inside of us are not for adornment but for the fulfillment of the destiny He had foreordained us for before the creation of the earth. The man who was given one talent was not different in worth but in capacity and ability. The Master gave to each servant according to his ability and expected results in like proportion. Responding to the ability in us is true responsibility. The mandate of dominion was not given only to believers, it was given to humans and wherever God sees a man fulfilling this mandate, the results are released regardless of the motive because the principle is being operated. If we are not content with the character or personality in dominion over a particular sphere of human endeavor, it simply means there are not enough good people taking responsibility by responding to their ability.
The return of the Master will meet us either giving excuses or brandishing accolades. What you don’t use, you loose (Matthew 25: 25 - 28). It’s your call!
